Deities & Worship Practices
The Swayambhu Lingam
The primary deity is Lord Shiva, worshipped as Gangadhareshwara. He is enshrined as a swayambhu (self-manifested) Shiva Lingam in the main sanctum sanctorum.
Subsidiary Shrines
Reflecting the harmony of the Shaivite tradition, the temple houses subsidiary shrines for Goddess Parvati, Lord Ganesha (the remover of obstacles), and the Naga Devatas.
Sacred Offerings
Rituals strictly adhere to Kerala Shaivism. Devotees offer bilva leaves and perform Abhishekam (ceremonial bathing) using water, milk, honey, and uniquely, sea-water, to invoke Shiva’s protection and blessings.
